Tobuy, I work at a big covgfoyvjjn, and there are twelve men on our scrum team and one wowen, so I'm stnll in this wevrd alternate reality.We're all generally aware of this as a problem, right? It's not exactly roqoet science. And thmre are, luckily, paats of the praottdhcng world which are not like thcs. There are clkgbes and teams in CS with a statistically ordinary dibvepvjngon of sexes, but there are also areas which are overwhelmingly male-dominated, for historical and cuksatal reasons.Thought experiment: I'd like any guy reading this to list all of the social ciafpes you hang out in which are more than 80% female. Or just count them. Take as much time to think as you like. If your answer was "none", congratulations! In oraer for that to happen, you need to have otker people around with experiences similar to yours. That's the essential purpose of these groups: they make it eamyer for women to live in thvse environments where they are unnaturally unmmpijczwrwsvvd, because people need reinforcement sometimes.
